A 100% agave tequila blanco from Tequila, Jalisco, made mostly from Highland agave with a small share from the Lowlands. The agave is slow-cooked, with no acids used in distillation and no additives. 1-liter bottle, 40% ABV, packed 6 per case.
A big, aromatic nose. On the palate, fresh floral agave that shifts from bright to gently sweet, with spice and citrus, finishing crisp, smooth and a little nutty.
Built for both sides of the bar: enough spice and citrus to carry a crafted cocktail program, and enough character to pour neat. A mid-to-upper-tier tequila, attractively priced.
Cantina Azul is a Connecticut company, created from the ground up by Brian Williams and Bill Driggs. Kalara Corp is the California distributor of Cantina Azul.
